As a web producer, musician, and independent consultant, Colin is an advocate for using open strategies for sustainable economic and cultural development.
Writing and performing since 1999, he set out on a multimedia "Free Culture Tour" in 2005 to universities and conferences such as SXSW Interactive promoting the Creative Commons. He recently completed his MBA at INSEAD Business School in France and Singapore, and has been podcasting his experience.
An early adopter of the Creative Commons, Colin's words and music have inspired over 60 remixes at CCmixter.org, the best of which are being released commercially as the "Premixed" album.
An active photographer and media producer, Colin's portfolio also includes a photo documentary on the Durham (NC) Police Department, as well as video projects that have been selected for film festivals in the United States.
Colin is also committed to using media and the internet to inspire cultures and economies to take action toward a sustainable economy. He has worked as Web Producer for Listen Up!, a national youth media network, and previously contributed to New Profit Inc. and NYC Public School 7. He also spent the spring of 1998 in Cochabamba, Bolivia researching the positive effects of community empowerment on development, and also has a degree in Public Policy Studies from Duke University.
